St Francis Bay - Area Information

Situated at the gateway to the Garden Route, only an hours drive from the Port Elizabeth airport.   St Francis Bay was first sited by Portuguese sailors in 1575, and the village was named after the Patron Saint of Sailors. This holiday town has risen out of the sands to become one of the most successful real estates developments in history. Enjoying excellent weather in the late summer to early winter, this area is bounded by the Kromme River, the warm Indian Ocean, and the St Francis Nature Reserve. The area is renown for its watersport activity, deep sea fishing and whale watching. For the land lovers, nature trails, golf, bowls and tennis are on your doorstep. Climate
Our climate is generally mild ranging from 12ºC in the winter to up to 30ºC in the summer. The average rainfall is about 660mm and falls mainly in the cooler months.
